Brief
Introduction
  Xiu-Ping Yan is the Cheung Kong Professor at Nankai University, China. He graduated from Taizhou Teachers College (Taizhou, China) (1981), received his M.S. at the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (Dalian, China) under the supervision of Prof. Tie-Zheng Lin (1987), and Ph.D. at the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences (Beijing, China) under the supervision ofProf. Zhe-Ming Ni (1993). He held post-doctoral positions in the Department of Chemistry at Peking University, China (1993–1994), the Department of Applied Research at Bodenseewerk Perkin-Elmer GmbH, Germany (1995), the Micro- and Trace Analysis Center at the University of Antwerp (UIA), Belgium (1996), and the Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada (1997-1999). He then joined Nankai University as a full professor (2000). He was the awardee of the NSFC National Distinguished Young Scholars Foundation (2000) and the CCS Shu-Quan Liang Prize for Fundamental Research in Analytical Chemistry (2006). He is an associate editor for Analytical Methods, editorial (advisory) board member for Talanta, AnalyticaChimicaActa, Electrophoresis, and Cancer Nanotechnology.
