Xue-Bo Yin obtained his BS degree in Chemistry from Hebei Normal College, Shijiazhuang, China, in 1992 and his PhD degree from Nankai University in 2003 in Analytical Chemistry under the guidance of Prof. Xiu-Ping Yan. He pursued his postdoctoral work with Prof. Erkang Wang in Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Science from 2003 to 2005. He joined College of Chemistry, Nankai University in 2005 as Associate Professor and was promoted to full Professor in 2010.
