Name Zhiyong Lou
Research Area
Dr. Lou’s research is focused on the molecular mechanism of high pathogenic virus (including bunyavirus, hepatitis C virus, hand-foot-and-mouth disease virus, and etc) infection and replication, as well as the antiviral agent discovery. In particular, he is interested in the mechanism of the viral entry employed by the positive-sense single-stranded (+ssRNA) RNA viruses and the complicated ribonucleoprotein complex formed by the negative-sense single-stranded (-ssRNA) RNA viruses.

Dr. Zhiyong Lou obtained his BS degree in Academic Talent Program (theoretical physics and mathematics) from Tsinghua Universityin 2002, and a PhD degree in biophysics from Tsinghua University in 2007. After got his PhD degree, he worked as assistant and associate professor in School of Medicine, Tsinghua University, and was promoted as a professor in the year of 2014.
