Name Yushan Zhu
Research Area
Yushan Zhu obtained a BS degree in Chemistry from Inner Mongolia NormalColleague, Tongliao, China, in 1996, and a PhD degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, in 2002, also in Biomedical Engineering. Having completed his postdoctoral training at Institute of Zoology, CAS in Beijing. Then he moved to Nankai University in 2007 as Associate Professor of Cell biology. He is currently the Professor of Cell biology in the College of Life Sciences, and PI of the State Key Laboratory of Medicinal Chemical Biology at Nankai University.
Research in Zhu laboratory has focused on molecular mechanism of mitochondrial apoptosis and mitochondrial quality control and their role in cancer. Currently there are two projects on going in his lab. One project focuses on the mechanism of the disorder mitochondrial function by knock out SDHB (Complex II) in mouse. The other project focuses on FUNDC1 LIRdomainhow to mediate mitophagy and analysis the interaction information of their structure. He has also published original research articles and review articles in Nature Cell Biology, Nature Communications,Molecular Cell, Autophagy, Cell Research, Clinical Cancer Research, JBC, Free Radical Biology& Medicine,Protein Cell, among others.
